Seasons of Change and Challenge

Apr 21, 2026

Spring is here according to the calendar but the temperature seems to be saying something different. Last Tuesday I happily went about setting up the furniture in my gazebo but so far only one morning has been warm enough for me to eat my breakfast and have my coffee journal time out there. I stood by the lake a couple of days ago and watched two geese and two ducks swim by and thought of the day I will run in and begin the 2026 swimming season. I await the arrival of the second round of edits for my fifteenth book. I ponder the cover option and look ahead to placing it on my table at the Farmer’s market for another season of greeting loyal and new readers. A week ago the farm had to say goodbye to Tessa , the beautiful matriarch of the herd. Loss is never easy but oh how often we are reminded that it is inevitable. We faced April 18th for the twenty seventh time. I was so grateful for the sunshine of that day and the love and support offered by friends and family. Families , friends , the province of Nova Scotia and the country mourn the tragic deaths that occurred six years ago. How can such horrific loss be processed and survived? War rages in the Middle East. But still each day we rise and face the day as best we can. And chilly or not it it wonderful when the sun shines. The seasons bring change , challenge , blessing and hardships. Each season holds hope and optimism and beauty to comfort and calm our souls.
